Day 4-Picture of Your Night

Day 04 - A picture of your night.

Well, since tonight still hasn't happened, I will go with what happened last night. Let's just say..Gavin is quite the character! First,(I won't show a pic of this one), Gavin came to Chad&I and said what we thought sounded like, "I peaked through the door in the bathroom!" He was laughing, and insisted "show me." That's what he says when he actually wants to show you something. So we go into the bathroom, and what he was really trying to explain to us..."I peed through the door!" There's a cabinet over the toilet with doors. Yep, he thought it was amusing to pee everywhere. At first it was funny because we didn't understand what he said, but not so funny having to clean it up! Thanks daddy!

Second, I let him have a cup of applesauce. He runs to me since I'm in the other room over from the dining room. He's got applesauce everywhere. I'm not quite sure if it was an accident or on purpose. I asked him, but of course he's going to say it's an accident. Knowing the mood he was in last night though, I'm thinking it was probably his mischievous self, and decided that would be funny also.

Lastly, right before he was playing with his Duplos. The ones he had in his hands were the black and yellow ones. So he then starts singing that rap song, "Black and Yellow." I couldn't help but laugh! I swear that kid picks up everything! We have to really watch what we say! I love he has so much personality!

Day 3(a day late)

Day 3-A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

Well, I'm a day behind, but at least I remembered today. Yesterday was supposed to be a picture of my favorite show. That's really hard to narrow down just one. I don't watch much TV during the day unless it's cartoons. I wonder why?! lol However, when I get a chance I tend to be a reality TV or crime show junkie. I've noticed that lately I've been using the search button on the remote to find episodes of Criminal Minds. Chad was watching a re-run a few days back and I watched it as well. Now, I'm hooked! So, here's a picture of the cast..Doesn't hurt that Shemar Moore is on some of the episodes! lol

Day 2

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

Today's challenge is really easy. Of course I've been closest to my family the longest, but if you are referring to someone outside my family...I would be closest to my best friend Megan for the longest. We've been best friends since 7th grade, so about 15 years. We have been through alot together-homework assignments, relationship problems, crazy clubbing days(lol), and most recently the births of our children.

I remember how I met Megan and how I knew she was an awesome person. It was in middle school in the lunch room that I first met her. I was actually sitting with some other friends who were friends with some other people at the table she was sitting at. I followed my friends over there&started talking to her. After awhile, I didn't sit with those old friends, just Megan lol It wasn't too long after that my grandfather who I grew up with, passed away. I took it very hard, because he was like the only father figure I had ever known. Megan came over everyday with my assignments since I was missing school&always checked on me. She was the only friend who did that.

I think the thing that has meant the most, most recently is that she was in the operating room with me. Chad was obviously on deployment when Grayson was born. My mom was helping out with Gavin, and I didn't want to be in the room by myself. She was the first one to actually hold Grayson. I would have loved for it to have been Chad if circumstances were different, but I'm glad Megan was there. Gavin even refers to her as his aunt! Love ya, Megan! Can't wait to see what the future has in store for us(maybe some more crazy adventures lol)

That is the most horrible picture of me, but that's us the day Grayson was born! Thanks Megan!

Day 1... A Picture of Myself&Fifteen Facts...

I loved my hair this light actually. I need to get some more blonde highlights at some point.
(Note: You may already know some of these facts)

1. My name is Joan&I named after a cousin in the family who also had red hair. My midde name is Elisabet. Spelled exactly like that without the "h" and with a "s" instead of a "z"

2. I have two little boys, Gavin and Grayson&one angel baby. Both boys born via c-section.

3. My favorite color is PURPLE

4. I two brothers. Jeff who is younger by 2 years. We actually have the same initials(thanks mom!) and Billy my step brother who is older, who is just about a year older. I guess you could say I have one sister. She's not my sister actually, but I consider her to be...my best friend Megan, of 15 years.

5. Chad is the first person I ever met from North Dakota. No offense, but I'm proud to say I'm from the South. It's too cold for me there!

6. My favorite type of food is pretty much anything Italian.

7. I will never like seafood or mushrooms, thank you very much!

8. I get my red hair from my mom. My mother and grandmother were both redheads. However, I am not Irish, but yet I have Scottish ancestry.

9. I'm 4 feet 11 1/2. I mean, couldn't I at least be half an inch taller so I could say I'm 5 feet?!

10. My political views are kind of middle of the road. All depends on what it is.

11. I'm a Christian&grew up in the Episcopal church. Although I really should go to church more regularly than I do.

12. I really wanted to be an elementary school teacher...we'll see what happens in the future.

13. I'm a cat person. I don't really care for dogs. I mean, other people's dogs are cute, but I don't really have a desire to own one of my own.

14. I met Chad off of myspace. lol

15. I'm originally from Hampton Roads. Yes, I'm a native, not like most! lol Come from P-town(Portsmouth).

4 Months

Whoa! Talk about needing to update your blog! I haven't made any entries since before Grayson was born. With his birth, the holidays, and Chad returning from deployment, to be honest, updating my blog was the last thing on my mind. I'm not going to make any promises that I'll be able to keep this up on a regular basis because life can be hectic at times, but I'm going to try to do better.

So like I mentioned...Grayson is here! Chad is home! You may already know all this info, but I'm going to share anyways, because I'm so proud of my new baby boy! Grayson Chadwick(named after his daddy) was born via c-section on 9/20/10 at 8:04 am. He weighed 7lbs 6 oz&was 20.1 inches long. Gavin was almost the exact weight&height(7lbs 12 oz&20.5 inches long). It happened really fast. I'm talking a total of 45 minutes with spinal, getting the baby out, and stitching me back up(sorry if that sounds gross). I was so surprised! My first one was long&painful&one of the worst things I've had to endure. I even was able to stop pain meds, well besides ibuprofen, by the second day. Four months out, I rarely have any pain. The occasional nerve twinge like they are healing but to me that's amazing considering my previous miserable experience.

Grayson had some issues at the beginning and he still has a few but nothing major. When he was born he had fluid on his lungs and wasn't getting enough oxygen. The ob said quite a bit of c-section babies have that issue because they come out so fast. He was put in the level 2 nursery for the first 2 1/2 days. It was sad that I couldn't hold&love on him, but good that I got a little rest. He didn't pass his hearing test at first, so of course I was stressing that one. They tested again, and he passed! Apparently, another problem that isn't too uncommon for babies that have some trouble at first He left the hospital at 6 lbs 14 oz&has had problems gaining weight ever since. We found out he has acid reflux, so that was contributing to the problem. He's on acid medicine and a calorie packed diet now. He's a piglet, but doesn't seem to put on weight except in his head, and gain those inches lol

Daddy got to meet Grayson almost 4 months ago today! Boy, was that the longest darn 7 months! I can say that I am so proud of myself! I learned to be more independent, and that whatever life throws at you, with the support of really great people(thanks to my family and Megan), and a little faith, I can get through anything! Homecoming was one of the happiest days of my life. Chad does so much for our family, but I think he sometimes doesn't realize it. He makes the sacrifices so I can stay home with our babies and watch them grow up. Doesn't get any more honorable than that!

Anyways, this is a long drawn out story to get to what I really wanted to write about in this post. Four months doesn't seem like that long of a time period. However, before you know it 4 years can pass you by and you sit there wondering where time went. Each day I try to spend quality with both boys. I think it's so important to hug&kiss your children. I look at Grayson in awe, and then I look at Gavin, and start to feel mommy guilt. Not so much that I'm not spending time with him now, because I know I am, but I start to question myself...did I do this with you? It's like I want to get that time back with Gavin, but I never will be able. I want him to grow up and see what an awesome people he will become, but at the same time, I'm like please stop growing so fast!! I'm sure this is typical for any mom, but it's what's been on my mind lately. I mean he hasn't even started school yet, and I'm already feeling this way! I don't want to be one of those mom's that calls their kids like 5 times a day when they are 40 years old lol I will just have to continue to treasure every moment I have with my beautiful boys. It is clear, that the boys(all 3 of them) aren't just in my life, but they are my life!
