Music Link Up~ Knee Deep!

Time again for another music link up...check out all the fun at Goodnight Moon's blog!

Well, I'm writing this as a bad storm rolls through..I'm surprised I still have internet..I'm dreaming of sunshine..So in honor of that&since I love country music, big fan of Zac Brown Band...it's called Knee Deep..I'm not necessarily a beach person because I loathe wearing a swimsuit, but I can't wait to take Grayson on his 1st beach trip. Might as well go since I only live 20 minutes from the ocean, right?

Here ya go...Enjoy!

Semi Wordless Wednesday (Anchors Away/Bad Day)

I had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day...(remember reading that book growing up? I do!)...That pretty much sums up my day. I know my car was having problems so I had planned to stay at home for the most part since Sailor man is gone for a short while. Well, let's just say I had to run to get some "girl things." I thought the car would at least make it down the street to Walmart. Wrong! It started sputtering&almost died on me. I spent the whole day waiting around in an auto shop with my 4 year old&7 month old. It's going to cost alot to fix, according to them. Tomorrow I'm going to get a rental for a few days&wait to see what Sailor man wants to be done with the car when he returns. I'm super lucky my parents live near&they followed me home from the shop, just in case I didn't make it. The last stretch, I had to use my hazards, but I made it..barely..but I did...at least I didn't have to pay for a tow! Why do these things happen when they are gone?! I'll stay positive though, and say my kids must have known mommy was stressed because they behaved for the most part!

Anyways, something new I'm digging...all the nautical themed stuff I'm finding...shows support for our Navy man&it's super cute....(Didn't have time to take my own pics this week)

A shirt I found at the kid's thrift store for my oldest (from J Crew, no less!)(took the pic from eBay, it's the blue one)

Shirt I found for my youngest at the Carter's outlet...

Flip flops for me bought at Target

Lastly, I love this shirt at Kohls, it's not in my size online, so I'm hoping I can find it in stores...

How was your day?

Was it like mine?

Easter&Other Things

So, I've been horrible about blogging, at least I feel that way. I've missed a few links up here and there. Oops! Been soaking up all the days here and there that I have with my man. Once again, Sailor Man is gone for a little bit. Glad it will all be over soon for awhile. Another reason I'll have some time to catch up on my blogging...my car is having issues. Of course the day before he leaves, my car does weird stuff. He even took it out to see what was wrong, and it didn't act up on him. I just don't want to take it out unless I have to. It wouldn't be cool to have the car break down with the two little ones& no one around to help.

Anyways, enough with that. We had a good Easter&I'm very thankful that the Mister was around for it. The weather was gorgeous. Daddy went and got me breakfast at McD's(hey, it's the little things that count, especially considering he just got off duty that morning). Then after the boys checked out all the stuff in their Easter baskets, we went over to the parents for dinner in the middle of the day. Came back from there&we all played outside until the sun went down.

Some pics from the day...
Silly Putty Fun

Chocolate Bunny(a real treat since diabetes doesn't allow for him to have much candy!)

Playing outside with his new chalk(daddy drew the bunny lol)

Today the boys just had fun playing indoors because the heat and on&off thunderstorms. Grayson is learning to use a walker. It's kind of tough since all of our rooms in the house have carpet except the kitchen. I'm hoping this will help him because mobility wise he's a little slow due to being a chunker lol Maybe he'll be like his big brother&walk before he crawls. I love watching my boys interact with each other&I can't wait until they are at an age where they can play "fort" and climb trees together, all the cool boy stuff!

How was your weekend?

Music Link Up! Old Alabama!

I've been kind of slacking on my blogging and keeping up with other people's blogs since Sailor man has been in and out so much. When he's here, I want to spend every minute with him, and when he's gone I find myself super busy catching up on everything..Anyways..go check out Goodnight Moon's blog&link up your song for the week!

This week I'm going with a song that just came out featuring Brad Paisley and Alabama, called "Old Alabama." I love country music, and those are two of my fav artists. One of my biggest complaints about country music...(not that they complain about losing their wife, dog, whatever...I actually love that! lol)..but I feel like alot of country music nowadays isn't country. It's become too "pop ized"(yeah, I made that one up!) This song kind of brings it back some. My fav parts are in the middle and at the end where Alabama sings along. This song puts a smile on this Southern girl's face! :-) Enjoy!

Military Monday Blog Hop (First Word)

I think I'm getting this post just before/just after it's technically Tuesday. Another long Monday. If you want to join in the fun, head over to Marine Parents, and find out what it's all about!

First Word...

I'm so happy Grayson said his first word this past weekend, but actually quite sad as well. I can't believe almost 7 months has gone by. My oldest is 4, so every little thing Gray does, I feel like I just want to hold on to that moment forever. I was the same way with my oldest, but I guess because I'm not sure if we are through having children, it makes me twice as sentimental/hormonal, whatever you want to call it lol

Grayson had perfect timing for his first word. Although, Gavin's was great too. Gavin said his first word-"mama"- on my first Mother's Day after he was born. Sailor man was back over the weekend after being gone for a short while. Gray had been so close all week to saying "dada." Finally, daddy is home&he says it! Actually the very next day he said "mama." He's just a babbling boy now! I can't get my video to upload right, but once I can, I'll share some those babbles! Next up..I'm so excited for his 1st Easter!

I love being a mommy to my boys! :-)

How was your Monday?

MilSpouse Friday Fill In!

This will be the second time I've participated. If you want to join in on all the fun.head over to Wife of a Sailor, and see what it's all about!

1. With PCS moves happening every few years, do you take the time to paint and decorate your home? submitted by Life as Mrs. JPT

I'm actually from the area where Sailor man is stationed. We met here&so far we haven't been stationed anywhere else. I don't foresee us going anywhere in the next 10 years(that's how long he has left). I know things can change but with his rate, this being the biggest Naval base in the US&my son being an "exceptional family member" for his diabetes&needing the hospital he goes to now for his endo, I don't think we'll be moving. I should make time for painting and decorating the house since we've been here so long, but honestly I get caught up with day to day things and I never do!

2. If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be? submitted by Standing By Him

When I was growing up I dreamed about living in the house from Full House, lol, but now those days are long gone..I think I would chose to live in one of the houses on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, those homes were insane!

3. What inspired you to start your blog? submitted by Pink Combat Boots

It was my way of getting through our first deployment, getting a free minutes to myself&surviving a pregnancy all by myself while he was gone. Plus it was a way to talk about my son's diabetes, since I think people don't realize that it is a life threatening disease with no cure! Yes, it's manageable but they are so many other things that go along with the disease.

4. What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen on base? submitted by Adventures in Life

Hmm...the people..no, that's mean! lol I haven't really seen anything weird on base so far, but I'm sure I will at some point.

5. Which historical figure (politician, writer, artist, scientist, actor, etc…) would you like to have dinner with? submitted by Army of Two

There are so many, this is really hard!! If I wanted to talk politics and get a good view of what's happening in the world, I think I would choose Thomas Jefferson. I've always admired his ethics&ideology. If I wanted to have a dinner on the lighter side, I would choose Audrey Hepburn! She is a classic&they don't have movie stars like that anymore! She had such fabulous style!

Music Link Up! Smile! :-)

If you haven't done so yet, head over to Goodnight Moon's blog&see what the music link up is all about! This week I'm going with something a little more upbeat. I'm dedicating this post to my hunny bunny! I <3 you, Chad! It's been an amazing 5 1/2 years! Boo to all those who didn't think we would last!

Here's the lyrics which I love...

You´re better then the best

I´m lucky just to linger in your light

Cooler then the flip side of my pillow that´s right

Completely unaware

Nothing can compare to where you send me

Lets me know that it´s ok

Yeah it´s ok

And the moments when my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun

Fall outta bed

Sing like a bird

Dizzy in my head

Spin like a record

Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe

Shine like gold

Buzz like a bee

Just the thought of you can drive me wild

Oh, you make me smile

Even when you´re gone

Somehow you come along

Just like a flower poking through the sidewalk crack and just like that

You steal away the rain and just like that

You make me smile like the sun

Fall outta bed

Sing like a bird

Dizzy in my head

Spin like a record

Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe

Shine like gold

buzz like a bee

Just the thought of you can drive me wild

Oh, you make me smile

Don´t know how I lived without you

'Cuz every time that I get around you

I see the best of me inside your eyes

You make me smile

You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe

Shine like gold

Buzz like a bee

Just the thought of you can drive me wild

You make me smile like the sun

Fall outta bed

Sing like bird

Dizzy in my head

Spin like a record

Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool

Forget how to breathe

Shine like gold

Buzz like a bee

Just the thought of you can drive me wild

Oh, you make me smile

Oh, you make me smile

Oh, you make me smile

Zumba

So I keeping seeing friend's statuses talking about zumba. I had an idea what it was, but I wanted to check it out further. So I went to YouTube and browsed through some stuff. We really don't have the extra for a gym membership or for me to take some Zumba classes, but you bet I can watch the videos and follow along. I've done it now for two days, and it's so fun! My intention is to keep it up&see if it helps to shed some pounds. Dancing is a great workout! In fact, when I used to go clubbing all the time that's when I was my tiniest! lol

My sons had fun watching me. Well, my 6 month old looked at me like I had 4 heads, but he was entertained! My 4 year old was my cheerleader. He kept telling me, "You can do that mom! You are doing a good job!" Plus he loves anytime when music is on, so he was doing his own moves. I'm just glad Sailor man wasn't around, because I think he would be laughing his butt off at me! I have to see how that will work when he's home. I'll just have to do the workouts when he's at work during the day!

Here are some of my favorites so far...I think they are my favorites because they are the ones I can actually do! lol

Do you do Zumba? Here's to me keeping it up!

Military Monday Blog Hop (Just Shy of Monday)

I guess technically it's Tuesday, but I had a super busy day. Linking up for the Military Monday Blog hop over at Marine Parent's blog. Check it out&link up! Thanks for stopping by my blog! :-)

I didn't intend for today to be busy but that's how it always goes. I ran to Target for some formula. I think I am at that store every other day, but I love that store!! I always freak if I getting too low on formula. I did once with my older son, and it happened to be on Christmas in a small town where sailor man's sister lives&nothing was open. I was a brand new mommy at the time. I ended up having to give him water with a little sugar in it. I felt so horrible, I vowed to never do that again. And I haven't!

Anyways I digress...so I did that, and on the way back to the car, a guy says..."Hey, your tire is low!" I looked&it was so low I was surprised I hadn't blown my tire completely. I knew it had a small nail in it, but the Mister just filled it with air before he left&he's not going to be gone all that gone&was supposed to patch it when he got back. I have no idea how to put air in tires! I sooo need to learn how to do that! So off I went to Walmart to the Tire Center. Only place I could think of at the moment. They patched it&hopefully it lasts awhile. Isn't that always the way though? Stuff always breaks/goes out when they are gone.

Then from there, I spent the rest of the day outside playing with the boys, enjoying the nice weather. Once it got dark, I've been doing chores ever since. I know, real exciting, but that was my day!

Video Link Up #2

If you want to join in the fun..head over to Deployment(again)&check it out! Pick your fav viral video of the week&then link up!

Okay..so I'm not sure if they are supposed to be funny or not, or if they are supposed to not be something you made, but this is my pick for the week. It is a public video, so hope that's okay! I was going through old videos of my oldest son last night and looking back how fast he's grown up over the past 4 years. I did this with him to show him how what an adorable&special little boy he is. Out of nowhere yesterday evening..getting very frustrated...he screams.."I hate myself, I don't want anymore pinchies!" Pinchies are what we call his blood sugar checks, which he gets at least 5 times a day. Those are words you never want to hear your child say! There's nothing I can do make the diabetes stop. I want to tell him it'll get better, but I don't know that for sure. I just tried to reassure him that he was so loved&that he's was made extra special!

I made a video back when he was first diagnosed that I thought I would share..It's a little long, but it shows what his diabetes is like&how he's such my little cutie pie!

Ultimate Blog Party!

I want to get in on all the fun too! Call me a copy cat, whatever! lol Head over to 5 Minutes for Mom and check out what's going on! It's the Ultimate Blog Party!

Look forward to meeting everyone!~

Thursday Music Link Up!

It's that time again. Another Thursday music link up. Stop on by Goodnight Moon's blog&check it out!

This week I wanted to pick something a little more serious. At first I was even afraid to go with this song, because it talks about something I never talk about. I don't want to say I forget about it, but I kind of put it in the back of my mind. I'm talking about miscarriage. Sorry, to get all heavy on you. Sometimes, I even feel guilty for feeling sad, because I was only 12 weeks along. I came into the ob&heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time, and two days later the little peanut was gone. He/she would be 2 this May. Why it's so fresh in my mind?...I happened to be going through my playlists last week for the link up&I stumbled upon my song choice again. Weird thing is, I checked my email that day&there was one from Enfamil talking about my baby being 24 months. I had to stop&think..wait a minute...I have a 4 year old& a 6 month old...that's not right. Then I remembered that I had signed up to get like freebies in the mail from them, when I first found out I was pregnant with my angel baby. I go back and forth of feeling guilty for putting it in the back of my mind&feeling guilty for feeling sad. This song puts me at ease...

Played outside today...

Total Tuesday Randomness

I know it's technically Wednesday, but I'm just now getting around to this. I can never sleep when sailor man is gone anyways. Tuesday wasn't very eventful, but I spent quality with my babies, and you can't top that!

We tried prunes for the first time this morning..

Gavin colored a pic for his daddy while he's away...It's now on the fridge..

Thank goodness for Sophie..It's the only teether Gray will take..expensive but worth it!

Did some baking with Gavin, so cute that he went&got his foot stool to "bake"

The finish product...
